Atlanta & Memphis, USA

Once again, these postcards were not scanned, but photographed instead – sorry for them being blurry. My printer/scanner keeps fighting my laptop & refuses to work properly. Please cope with the blurriness for a little bit longer! :)

Anyway, today I’m sharing two lovely postcards sent by O’Neal. Lovely postcards, both of them!
First is from Atlanta, Georgia. More info on the city – HERE.  And now, please look at the view. I’m not a glitter-fan in any normal situation, but doesn’t the glittery sky just fit the image here??? I kind of love it!

The second one is from Memphis, Tennessee. The postcard caption says “Azalea time”, and after a little snooping around on the internet, I think azaleas grow throughout the city & look pretty fabulous when in bloom. :)

Also, look at the wonderful stamps! I love all the stamps O’Neal uses on his postcards. I only wish Croatia had so many to choose from!

And now if you’ll excuse me, I have: a) a letter to write, b) a beanie to crochet and c) sleep to sleep. :D

A little bit from everywhere.

First of all, I don’t know if any of you Postcrossers are (were) using Google Picassa for storing your scanned postcards. Did I just not notice it before or did they make some sort of changes up there? I’ve noticed I can mainly access my photos through Google Drive, which I don’t really mind that much. But what’s up with the albums and “collections” and adding new photos and… well, basically everything else? It doesn’t allow me to view my albums as they were before – now it just shows photos uploaded by month. It doesn’t allow me to upload new photos what so ever – it just lets me shuffle existing pictures from one “album” to another. And it annoys me so much! It’s a fair chance that I just didn’t figure it out, but it really bugs me, especially since I’ve been using it to store my available postcards & I could easily get them from the albums and share them if I needed to do so. Where do you store your postcard scans? Is there any better option than Google Drive? Tnx in advance.

On a brighter topic, here are three awesome postcards I got in the last two weeks….

First, a wonderful “Hello from Buffalo” from O’Neal! I love this type of postcards and I’m not exactly sure why, but every time I see one of these – I can’t help but think of old movies & TV series. #facepalm Anyway, wonderful postcard. I love it! Thank you, O’Neal!

The second postcard I want to share came from my pal Anu and it’s showing a beautiful “view along Loch Tummel at dusk to Schiehallion (3550 ft) and the mountains of Glencoe in the far distance.” I love the view & the sunset shades of the sky. <3

Last, but certainly not least – this wonderful Greetings from… postcard that came through Postcrossing from sweet Beata. I quite like these Greetings from… postcards but I’m not a crazy collector or anything like that, so this is the first of those I’ve ever gotten. AND I LOVE IT!!! I think I might actually turn into a crazy collector, haha! :) The whole idea is just a great one – you have a nice picture in the background & all sorts of interesting facts about the country. I quite like it! Sadly, as far as I know, they can only be ordered through the Postallove.com website & I’m not much of a “I’ll-order-it-just-so-I-can-say-I-have-it” kind of person. I’d much rather wait until someone sends me one so it’s nicely written and – more enjoyable. :)

And now, if you’ll excuse me, it’s Saturday and I’m off to finish some things that I didn’t have a chance to do during the week. Such as finish crocheting a beanie. And sleep. And enjoy some music. And enjoy some music while sleeping. :)
(I’ve been addicted to THIS song for a while now. You’d think I will get tired of it by now, but nope!

Winnipeg Jets, Canada

My pal Beatrice saw this ice hockey related postcard and thought of me! Yay! :D

Slika

It’s a postcard of the NHL team Winnipeg Jets. The printed description on the back says, “Members of the Winnipeg Jets gathered around the center ice logo during pre-game introductions prior to the team taking on the Montreal Canadiens adn the MTS Centre on October 9. 2011 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
There you go! :)

Thank you, Beatrice!! I LOVE this! <3

A few postcards from the UK

These following postcards did not come from the same sender, but I decided to post them together since they’re from the same part of the world. :)

This first one came from one of my new pals, Bryony, and it’s showing the Cardiff Castle, Wales. It dates back to the first century, said Bryony! Wow, that’s old! :)
Great postcard, by the way! I love how it looks!

The second postcard arrived just this morning, from my – not so new – pal, Kathryn. She’s traveling in Europe and is visiting the UK. The postcard is showing the Historic North Yorkshire, or more specifically: (top row, left to right) Byland Abbey, Castle HOward, Helmsley Castle, Pickering Castle, (bottom row, left to right) Rievaulx Abbey, Mount Grace Priory, Scarborough Castle, Whitby Abbey.
Great postcard as well!

Last but not least, from my pal Ugne – London! Oh, London! <3 The postcard is showing the red buses crossing the Westminster Bridge. Can I say it once more? Oh, London! <3
