Winnipeg Jets, Canada

My pal Beatrice saw this ice hockey related postcard and thought of me! Yay! :D

It’s a postcard of the NHL team Winnipeg Jets. The printed description on the back says, “Members of the Winnipeg Jets gathered around the center ice logo during pre-game introductions prior to the team taking on the Montreal Canadiens adn the MTS Centre on October 9. 2011 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
There you go! :)

Thank you, Beatrice!! I LOVE this! <3

Belgium & Belarus – official Postcrossing

This first postcard arrived yesterday from Belgium. It is showing the statue of Jan and Hubert van Eyck.  Jan van Eyck (or Johannes de Eyck) was a Flemish painter active in Bruges and is generally considered one of the most significant Northern European painters of the 15th century. Hubert van Eyck was Jan’s older brother, also a painter.

The second postcard came from Belarus and – it’s a hockey theme postcard! ::happy happy:: I don’t really know the details about the postcard though, just that it’s a player from Belarus after (obviously) scoring a goal against what looks to be Ukraine. Correct me if I’m wrong. :)

Finnish national ice-hockey team card

So. Interesting thing happened. I have received this postcard from Finland a few days ago. It’s showing their national ice hockey team, who won the world championship in 2011.

I’m a big ice hockey fan so this is almost a perfect postcard to send my way. I liked it a lot right away. I also find it cool that the sender is apparently also a hockey fan. Still, when I sent a thank you note on Postcrossing while registering the card, I kept rambling about.. football. Soccer, if you’re an American. O_o

It only occured to me now and I honestly have no clue what brought me to not even mention ice hockey (you know… kind of what this postcard is all about) and ramble on and on how I know Finland has a good football team and how our football team could do better. Sometimes I wonder if my brain is there just to fill an empty space inside my head. :triple facepalm:

Anyway. Aside from feeling rather embarassed… I really enjoyed this postcard. Really. :)

London & Canada

Long time no see… :) So, here are some postcards I got in the last few days.

I received this lovely London card from my postcard pal Anu. I love this card, I keep it up on my wall so that I can look at it all the time. :) Thanks Anu!

The second one is from my Canadian pal Karen. She sent me a postcard from Hockey Hall of Fame. Awesome card, I love ice hockey so it was REALLY cool to find this card in my mailbox. Thank you Karen! :)

Oh yeah, by the way… it’s a little late but still: HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)
