Just a quick share of the most recent postcard I got, this time from O’Neal!
I just love the view of it and how wonderfully colorful it is!
According the Wikipedia, Horsehoe Bend (which I kept typing down as “Horseshoe Band” because my brain is all music, haha) is a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located in Arizona, USA.
It is accessible via hiking a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) round trip from US Route 89, but an access road also reaches the geological structure, as it is part of a state park. Horseshoe Bend can be viewed from the steep cliff above.
The overlook is 4,200 feet (1,300 m) above sea level, and the Colorado River is at 3,200 feet (980 m) above sea level, making it a 1,000-foot (300 m) drop.
Thank you, Wikipedia, you make me smarter. :)
And thank you, O’Neal, for this wonderful postcard. It’s greatly appreciated!
